Our mission is to to provide a voice for those animals thought of as lost causes, of disabled pets and their owners by bringing awareness to their heartwarming stories and to encourage the rescue and adoption of special needs animals who have so much to teach us.
Blankets Mountain Publishing was founded by Eric Fish, a pet owner who resides in the United States in the state of Georgia. After sharing his experience adopting a special needs cat, he realized there are a lot of like minded and kind hearted people who also choose to adopt, support, and care for pets with disabilities. These courageous pet owners provide a life for animals that otherwise would have been euthanized or lived a life without love.
After sharing stories of his own beloved cat Neuro Dan, Eric wanted to help bring awareness to the under-served population of disabled animals currently sitting in shelters and foster homes in need of their loving furever homes. He has supported numerous charities and non-profits organizations that help fund rescues and adoptions of these deserving animals. Wanting to do more to help these deserving animals, he knew they needed a way to share their incredible stories of hope and love.
Blankets Mountain publishing provides a place for sharing stories from around the world of pets with special needs and those whose lives were saved, or who as more often happens, saved the lives of their humans. Our intention is to show others through shared experiences that caring for pets with disabilities, despite obvious challenges, is far more rewarding than most could ever imagine. They have much to teach us about how to be a better human steward to the animals we share our planet with.
